Tuesday morning before work, Dom dropped me and my kit off at ma’s, she lives a mile from us.
I excitedly started setting up on the kitchen table.
I followed the routine to the tee. No wonder it took me nearly 3hours. Our normal “natural” makeup routine takes 15 to 20 minutes.
On Sunday I’ll be doing ma and Aunt Shelly’s makeup for the cookout my parents are having.
I’ll upload pictures for my torture to critic.
Oh yeah, we’re having a big cookout. We’re talking 20 plus heads. Aunt Shelly, Uncle Mike aka Cream Puff and cousin Adam are stopping at ma’s on their way up north, so there’s a reason to get together.
Dom and I have invited his mom and siblings: this will be the first time since our wedding that my family and Dom’s family will hangout. My family hasn’t even met his brother! That boy is a clown!
Kid bro has invited his future in law’s and of course his fiance: Z, she’s my BOLD model, our first look will be carbon black smokey eye with red lips, she’s going to slay! Maybe I should do her makeup tomorrow 🤔? Nah, you’re doing ma and Shelly’s, you want and need to take your time with Z, it’s “homework” and you need to know your shit, you need to focus, Sunday (tomorrow) will be chill and social, I’m not sure how long it’s been since we’ve seen Aunt Shelly.
We chat pretty regularly so, she’s pretty up to date, and I think she fallows me 😁.
Oh I haven’t told her about speech therapy!
Thursday April 11 I had speech therapy evaluation with Katherine a SLP (speech language pathologist) with Expressable: Expressable is remote/online speech therapy. I’ll be meeting with Katherine twice a week via Zoom, we’re going to be working on getting me more social and bringing more personality to my voice (I’m currently monotone, unless you piss me off, then in Dom’s words my inner hood nigga comes out 😇). I forgot to mention I need to be understood when I’m telling a funny story. Let me start laughing when I’m talking and even Dom has a hard time understanding me.
It’s time I own my voice. See, for the 17 years I’ve approached therapy with one goal, of rehabilitating to pre-TBI Nina. She’s dead and gone, it’s time to cuff Nina’s voice.
Let’s see if I have any other up dates. Oh yeah, your girl is now a part of the JUSTSTRONG team @juststrong, because they love my strength and personality and how I go about doing what do.

The colors I used and my blending is on point, daytime eyeliner is too dark and not “tight enough”. I need to line the tight line, I’ll get to practice on Z, she’s young and is used wearing makeup, ma doesn’t wear eye makeup and has sensitive eyes. But overall I did a good job on mature skin, an added unexpected challenge.
Today we prepare for the cookout: we’re making a bean dip.
