You remember me telling y’all Dom was going to have his tooth removed, right? Well Friday morning he had the broken tooth and two impacted wisdom teeth removed.
Ma took him to the Oral Surgery Center in Kissimmee, I stayed home and cleaned/set up. Not trying to make Dom’s surgery about me…..but, you’re here to spend a day with me (Nina):
Friday morning I was “going through it” but I pushed to get the bed made, lay out Dom’s pajamas, tidy room, clean bathroom, and set up my “nurse table” with notebook to log medicine, then I got the “INCOMING” text ‘we’re at the light (there’s a light to turn into our neighborhood), he needs to lay down.’
I made my way to the garages, so I could open doors and make sure the path was clear, he was feeling weak and dizzy, ma walked him to the room and sat him down on the bed. I helped him change into his pajamas, gave him water, then “walked” him to the bathroom. I was in my wheelchair, I propelled myself at a slow and steady pace, he held on to my chair and walked beside me.
I got him back in bed, and asked ma to come and give me all the after care details, made his medicine chart, made him a smoothie and started managing pain and swelling, my specialty.
I’m so proud of him, by Saturday morning he was done with the Oxy. It’s Sunday morning at 9:30, he took ###mg of ibuprofen at 6am pain level was a 3. My goal is to not let it get above a 3.
We leave/ board the Amtrak to VA for my niece’s quinceañera in ELEVEN days. I have our packing lists and luggage ready to go, this week I’ll finalize my look for the quince and start organizing stuff.
You’ll be hearing more about packing and preparing for the trip.
