Last Friday, I had an appointment with Dr. Ntim, an endocrinologist at Primer Endocrinology, to get something to make me ovulate. See, I have POCOS, and my cycle is extremely irregular, which means I don’t ovulate regularly.
I’ve been off of hormonal birth control for 10 months, hubby stopped pulling out 4 months ago. I know, you’re thinking ‘trying for 4 months is nothing, and you should keep trying before we turn to medicine.’, right?
If ma and I were younger, I’d agree.
My eggs are getting old, and I want my baby to know thier Nonna. See ma was almost 30 when she had me, I lost my Nonna when I was 12, and I’m 7 years older than ma when she had me!
Time is ticking, so we’re/I’m starting Letrozole tomorrow the third day of my cycle for 5 days (February 1st through 5th) then I should ovulate next weekend, and we’ll make a little one.
Omg I might be pregnant and testing positive on my birth! We left the doctor thinking the next time I get my period “expected” mid Februar, I was actually predicting to be taking Letrozole or ovulating on my birthday. I’ve always said I want to have a baby by time I turn 35, that’s not going to happen, maybe I’ll be pregnant.
Anyways, side effects from Letrozole are similar to menopause symptoms: hot flushes, difficulty sleeping, tiredness, and low mood. There’s a 3-5% chance of multiples, in spontaneous pregnancy the chance of multiples is between 2-3%.
HOLD ON NINA! You need blood work before you start Letrozole!
Appointment made for Friday afternoon, it looks like we’re waiting for next period.
Update, I need to get a job and lose 10 to 15 pounds before we force anything.
