I got my first sympathetic nerve block today…. My big bro had me all scured, now I can’t help but think big bro might be a bitch. Almost messed around and laughed while he had that 5 inch needle in my back and I was chilling with the “pain.” Men are built different. It was quick and easy—not saying it didn’t hurt. Nurse Sara saw me clench the mat I was laying on, so she came over to hold my hand and comfort me. They said I did good, one week ’til I see full results.
Back story;
Nerve pain started in January 24′, nerve pain and puffiness/swelling. I was able to manage it ’til this year when my swelling worsened. We’re talking shoes aren’t fitting, so I’m not walking—just sitting around smoking weed and getting fat while attempting to manage pain and figure out how to live like this. It was at a hip injection appointment when ma was talking to the doctor (Dr. Mullner) about my symptoms, what made him stop and say she needs a fresh MRI seen by Dr Mamun, because it’s physically impossible for the hip to cause all of your symptoms.
Dr. Mamun has been the only doctor to look beyond a “clean” MRI and diagnose me with another fuckin’ syndrome: complex regional pain syndrome. This diagnosis came with mixed emotions. On one hand I’m happy I know what’s wrong with me, you can’t conquer any challenge ’til you truly see it (Veni Vidi Vici), on the otherhand, I’m thinking here we fuckin’ go again, starting back at one.
